About the Venue

Permanently built with solid oak frames, movable panoramic windows and wooden flooring, it combines the charm of traditional canvas tipis with the comfort and reliability of a purpose-designed space—crafted to make outdoor events seamless, sustainable, and stress-free.

A built-in stage, circular bar area, shepherd hut restrooms, cloakroom, and a large back-of-house area with a walk-in fridge and freezer. Fairy lights, festoons and wagon wheel chandeliers fill the space to create a warm atmosphere throughout the venue. Furniture is all inclusive and fully customisable, this includes large reclaimed dining tables and chairs, comfy bamboo lounge seating, barrels and bar stools, as well as some soft furnishings.

Tipis at Mapledurham History
Mapledurham House is a historic 12th Century estate nestled in the picturesque landscapes of the Thames Valley in Oxfordshire. The 2000 acre estate is a haven of tradition, coupled with sustainability to maintain its viability and ensure its longevity.
Guests of Tipis at Mapledurham have unique access to the large tipi venue in front of the Elizabethan House as well as the grounds and their distinctive outdoor features like the Fern House, Orangery and the (oldest working)Watermill on the River Thames.

We formed to deliver beautiful and indulgent events without a negative environmental impact. We are passionate about providing a service which enables our clients to celebrate guilt free, that is why we are excited to have a partnership with Mapledurham Estate.
While sustainability is one of our values, we believe that it cannot be at the cost of quality. We’re proud to be able to deliver both luxury and environmentally conscious experiences for our clients through problem solving and critical thinking.
At Raw Tipis we understand our clients desire for bespoke events without the worries of managing multiple suppliers and details. That is why we have crafted an exceptional customised package, offered at a fixed fee, to ensure a seamless experience from the very first conversation to the last.
What’s Included?

Four joined Giant Hat Tipis (400 m2) set upon a sturdy wooden floor. The front wall stretches an impressive 28 meters (90 feet) and features sliding, floor-to-ceiling windows standing over 2.1 meters tall. These windows can be easily moved by our staff to fully enclose the space during bad weather or cooler evenings. When open, they reveal stunning views and create a fluid connection between indoor and outdoor areas, delivering a striking entrance or exit.

The circular bar is set up to facilitate any large event, with fridges, a sink, shelving for glassware, and ample space for preparing drinks.
Please note: from 2026 we are operating the bar and will be offering drinks packages to suit a variety of budgets.

All-inclusive furniture and the opportunity to arrange it as clients desire, facilitating creative configurations inside and outside the tipi. Our on-site furniture store and event team even enables mid-event swaps. For events exceeding 160 guests, clients have the option to add additional furniture and structures (at a fee).

Our luxury Shepard Hut Restrooms are strategically connected to the tipi. They have been built in-house and utilise reclaimed and upcycled materials. They boast rustic high-end amenities and include 3 women’s cubicles, 1 mens cubical, 2 urinals, and 1 disabled and inclusive loo.

The Catering Area includes a purpose-built kitchen area joined to the tipis. 2025 caterers have access to catering tables, handwashing facilities and a section of the walk-in fridge. Approved 2026 caterers have a kitted out space with essential kitchen equipment.

100% Renewable energy is produced on-site by the watermill, it generates electricity for the venue and suppliers. Water is also provided to the bar and catering areas and is included in the package.

Event Management starts from our very first conversation through to welcoming suppliers and on-site coordination during your event. Our experienced team are here to support your events plan and delivery every step of the way.

Sustainability is at the core of our venue. As part of our commitment, we provide an Event Carbon Footprint Report for every event, using Trace by Isla. This report measures the environmental impact of the event and is shared with you after the event.
By measuring carbon emissions for every event, we aim to identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to global efforts to halve emissions by 2030, limiting global warming.

This means choosing suppliers and dealing with them on the day seamless and stress free as they know the space and have signed our venue agreement.
These partners are exclusive to our 2026 events but can also be booked for 2025 events, reach out to our team to request our bar, catering, or street food brochure. Other suppliers will be considered upon request.

Managing over 300 events annually and collaborating with esteemed brands, Henry’s is the chosen bar partner for Tipis at Mapledurham events, and exclusive partner from 2026. Through this collaboration, a unique drinks list has been crafted which aligns with the venues values of luxury, creativity and sustainability. Expect to see local, B Corp and sustainable brands throughout!

Together we have created an easy-to-choose list of bar service options for your event. This includes cash bar, bar tabs and unlimited package options. All services include planning, management, bar staff and glassware.

Henry’s Bar will work with you to craft your perfect bar menu. Cash Bar and Bar Tab clients have the option to take away/add on drinks, choose personalised cocktails, and add on optional extras.
